There’s nothing quite as luxurious as a bit of ‘me-time’. With Spring nearly here, our bodies may be desperate for a little relaxation and pampering to wash away any stresses from the dry heat of blasting radiators or the biting wind and rain outdoors. If a visit to an expensive spa is not on the cards, there’s no reason you can’t bring a bit of luxe pampering to your own bathroom.

Turning your bathroom into a relaxing spa-like haven isn’t that difficult. With our tips today, you can stay at home to treat yourself whenever you feel you want a bit of pampering and relaxation.

Watersbaths of Ashbourne Dusk freestanding bath

A luxurious freestanding tub

Let’s start with the bathroom itself. The elliptical shape of Waters Baths of Ashbourne’s Dusk bathtub moulds to your body and creates the focal point of the bathroom itself. Its rounded edges will soften the hard lines of tiles and create an inviting spot to soak away the worries of the day.

Fill it with bubble bath, a tantalising bath bomb, scented oils or dried flower petals for the ultimate in luxury!

Hide the clutter

No one wants to see clutter on display whilst having a long soak, so be sure to store all those extraneous bottles of hairspray and cleaning products away in a beautiful curved unit that echoes the freestanding tub. We’re particularly enamoured with Laura Ashley’s Marlborough freestanding unit with its sophisticated white finish.

Soft colours to relax

To enhance the calming mood, choose pale colours for the walls in light grey or cotton white and tile in natural textures with woven baskets and bamboo accents. Don’t forget some high-quality fluffy bath towels in brilliant white or softer shades of cream or grey, like this bathroom from Mark Taylor Design.

Add so some greenery

And finally, for a true spa-like feel, consider bringing in some greenery.

Some plants thrive in the natural humidity of the bathroom and will purify the air as well as create a spa-like effect helping you perfect your spa day stay-cation!
